As we enter the new era of technology, it’s crucial for holistic medicine practitioners to establish a strong online presence. It’s not just about having a website, but also utilizing social media, maintaining an active blog, and sending out engaging newsletters. Today we are going to talk about the importance of having an online presence for holistic medicine practitioners.
Think about the first thing you do when you encounter a new product or company: you Google them for more information. As a millennial, this is definitely my go-to. For experienced healers, you may be hesitant or unsure about the importance of having an online presence. I understand your concerns, but rest assured, there are ways to maintain your values while embracing the digital world. Not having an online presence could potentially convey distrust, fear, intimidation, or a lack of safety. But fear not, there are ways to overcome these feelings with an open mindset and the right support. That’s where I come in.
Let’s say you already have a website, built with the help of your tech-savvy niece. That’s a great start, but let’s maximize its potential. Are you still finding yourself answering questions from clients that are already on your website? How’s the engagement on your page? Is the website user-friendly? If you don’t have Google Analytics set up, let me lend you a helping hand. Fill out the form on my website and together we’ll enhance your online presence. If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, that means your website’s user experience (UX) is lacking. This translates to more work for you, instead of your website working for you.
A strategically built, fully functioning website will eliminate these issues and give you more time to focus on what matters most: healing. A user-friendly website builds trust, whereas a poorly optimized one will undermine the trust your audience has in you. Repeat after me, “I build the most trust in my community by having a well-built website.”
Clients seek you out for your expertise, but sharing your years of experience and education solely through hourly sessions is no longer enough. Nowadays, people turn to the internet for information rather than the library. Unfortunately, the internet is saturated with false and misleading content. Your truth and experience are crucial in countering this. We may not be able to erase the false information, but we can contribute honest teachings. People don’t know what they don’t know, and with the growing interest in holistic healing, your input is invaluable!
Let me share a personal story of how I found the genuine teachings I was seeking. Instead of relying on social media for information directly, I allowed it to guide me to the authentic source (who, surprise surprise, wasn’t even on social media). Along the way, I evaluated the credibility of the information based on how it resonated with my body. I’m incredibly grateful to have used discernment and intuition to find trustworthy information.
If you have a website that showcases your credentials and certifications, you can use social media to drive traffic and attract those eager to learn from your expertise. Beyond leveraging various platforms, simply being present online adds to your credibility. While I never assume, I can confidently say that established practitioners will have an established online presence.
As a new business owner, the best advice I received was this: strong leaders know when to delegate. Invest in experts to conserve your resources. Your audience recognizes your specialty isn’t in web development or digital marketing, so let professionals help you establish an effective online presence.
